Wandering Through Paradise

All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost. – J.R.R. Tolkien

What’s up ahead? What is around the corner? Look over there… It is human nature to be curious and wander towards the unfamiliar. A small child asked an environmental scientist friend of mine once what does a scientist do? He said, “I wander around and find something that looks like it doesn’t belong and try to figure how it got there and how it survives”. Much of our lives are like that. We search for answers to crucial questions – how did I get here, how do I survive this, where am I going, and why – always Why. Each soul wanders some well marked paths and numerous vague trails in search of their truths, trying to answer a million whys.

But every man is more than just himself; he also represents the unique, the very special and always significant and remarkable point at which the world’s phenomena intersect, only once in this way and never again.Hermann Hesse. From the moment, we take our first steps, life educates us. Some lessons restrict us and some liberate us. It has been said that experience is the best teacher. Experience teaches us to not be too proud of success or too humbled by failures.

Intertwined failure/success motivates the corded sinew of willpower to act. Step ahead with resolve. An important part of our character was deeply influenced by the educational theories, personal relationships and events of the times of childhood. These disparate social threads were woven into the various masks we wear. With the wisdom gained from maturity, one can remove those masks or re-purpose them on the journey towards self-awareness.

Subtle influences drift over us / Fortunate breezes ever-so-gently nudging us / Towards the true way / Delicate divination and revelation / The course up ahead clears / The pulse and pace quicken / Purpose returns to the steps / The soul sings out joyously / Yes / I am found

We are all wandering timelessly through paradise. Unwrapping the gift that is life reveals who we truly are. That happy self-discovery is the impetus for our first steps and does not end with our last. Where one journey ends another begins. Do not give up. All life is part of you and you are part of it. Wander out into Nature and discover love in abundance. Light your heart and soul with transcendent enlightenment. Keep wandering. Peace.
